As "on the initial day, the first event on the card will provide investors with only one dividend. Of the Eve acceptors,' Singleton may ho reserved or the Sunderland Stakes. Cool Card’s effort in Thursday’s Jubilee Handicap has caused him to be raised 13lbs in excess of what he carried to victory, but Ins chances of success again appear rosy. All things considered, the acceptance for the Second Hurdles Handicap must be considered very satisfactory. Throughout the three previous days’ racing these events on each occasion have found only two contestants facing the starter. Today six horses have paid up and an interesting race should be witnessed. Garzon heads the list with the heavy burden of 12.4. However, the aged Heather Mixture gelding is in great fettle at present and the mile and a-half Journey will suit him admirably. Royal Heather should bo benefited with recent racing and these two will be handy as they cross the line. . Thirteen hobses are listed for the Cook Hack Handicap, but as several have other engagements during the day there may he a few defections. Royal Time stuck to his task gamely in Thursday’s Telegraph Handicap and seemed a trifle unlucky not to get the decision. Taku Tama, if started, must also be considered. The three-year-old has been remarkably consistent in bis last four starts and lias yet to run unplaced. The Sunderland Stakes, the big race of the day, carries a very open appearance. White Fang is among tlie acceptors and should the stable see lit to start him he will be hacked down to a very short price. Singleton, with 7.10, carries a handy impost and, a win from that quarter would lis very popular. The Publicans’ Purse to lie run over five furlongs, contains some useful sprinters. Taku Tama is smart from the barrier, a big consideration over such a short distance. Startle is now low down in the weights and if she could only produce some of her old brilliancy would take some stalling off. These two must be hard.

The Maiden Handicap does not contain, bfi outstanding, promise. Fall o’ the Year lias been elevated 101 b for running seednd to Cynette, and may go one better today. Sun Yet Sen is another with good prospects. The Rosoland Hack Handicap has filled up to expectations and an ex- < ccilent, race should, result. Avazone is nicely weighed with 8.0 and her chances - of victory appear particularly rosy. Snndburr has yet, to run a bad race and these two will carry plenty of support. , The meeting will conclude with the Farewell Handicap. Some more than useful spriners are engaged and parous should be rewarded with one of tlie. best races of the meeting. White Fung if started will see a very short price. Superb King has run consistently well in liis last two efforts and these two should fight out the finish.
