BUG INCREASE IN’ MEAT AND, POULTRY
i : ; LONDON, Jan. 2. The Smitheld market report discloses that 1927, Was a record year, supnlies’of meat and poultry aggregating 489,290 tons, an increase of 9052 tons. British, and Irish produce forms 27.7 per cent, of the- total supplies, .vithe Dominions 19.4, and foreign countries 52.9. Argentina sent 78.8 per cent, of the total- beef marketed while New Zealand supplied 65,660 tons of mutton.' or 43.7 per cent, of the quantity marketed. The Dominions sent 13.’3 per cent, of the total poultry.— A and N.Z.C.A.
