OUTBREAK IN SPIRIT CELLAR

(Received January 1; 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Dec. 31. A fire in the cellars of blarbottle and Company, spirit merchants, St. Janies Place, in the city, caused enormous damage before it was subdued. Thousands of pound's worth ot gin, and whisky were destroyed. The spirits were contained in huge vats and the firemen, while fighting the outbreak, had to face the risk of explosion at any moment.
