The Miller and Lux Ranch, said to be the greatest cattle ranch in the Dinted States, serves as the locale of much of Jven Maynard’s new First tNlational picture Picture “The Land Beyond the Law”. Not only did the producer secure permission to use the _ ranch and other features connected with the cattle industy, hut also to picture a stampede in yvhich 50,000 head oi cattle were employed, with hundreds cf buck'aroos and horses.. The story concerns the entry of New Mexico into the X T nion, with the attendent disputes with ' cattle barons and troubles with bandits who flourished in those exciting times. The story is Ha sod on real Historical happenings. Dorothy Dwan plays the feminine lead. Pauline Starke, Rockcliff e Fellowes a’nd Johnnie Walker are to be seen in -Fox Films crook drama “Honesty is the Best Policy” The picture gives this trio of screen favorites, a. series of dramatic situations. which end in a motor dash by Miss Starke, playing a girl crook, pursued by Fellowes, a detective. This drive over desert and mountain ends in the wreckage of both machines. The crash gives the girl a chance to escape, but insteacj' she goes to £he rescue of her pursuer. Fellowes’ interest in his prisoner turns- to love, but after she has shown him the impossibility of his plan to take her. to the South Seas for a now start in life, they decided to go hack to the eitv- so. that she can face the future which the law has in store for her. The story develops an odd. love triangle of two crooks and a detective, with many .subsequent thrills. In addition there will he the; Host of supporting pictures, including AI St. John special remedy “Stupid hut Brave”. Box plan at Tattersall and Bayly’s.
