The severity of the winter has driven packs of wolves to Hungarian villages. Some penetrated the capital, and cnic was shot in the heart of the city.—Sun.

Radio messages report that- wild beasts, nVhddonod by hunger, increased the terrors of winter in Poland. Packs of wolves killed many peasants in the eastern border lands. Two women were devoured near Wolkoewysk, also-four smugglers who' .just, crossed the border with contraband. The Government is employing troops to organise great hunts to exterminate as' ni.'tnv wolves as possible.—iA. and N.Z.C.A.
