Exiled To Waru Dies.
In April, 1834, the well-known chief Te Warn of Wairon died at his place of exile near lYhakutnne. He and Ids followers so rendered to the Government in ISGS, were pardoned and some swore tuturi- allegiance. II hen To KoeU and Ids iwmle o wioed from the Chnthams in 1863 Te Waru and his people joined them. Two years latei- he again became captive to the Covernment and was exiled to the B-iv of Plenty upon a small piece of Crown land. Good in feature, amply tattooed, lie was active and athletic and invariably wore his hair tufted at the top with a buneli of feathers.
