ONLY FART OF COALFIELDS ' AFFECTED.
AUTHORITIES THREATEN TO ARREST PICKETS.
NEW YORK, Oct.. 19. Atlhough 6000 1 Colorado coal miners affiliated with the .Industrial Workers of the World responded to. the latter’s strih* order, only part of the State’s coalfields are yet seriously affected. ■•' , Governor Adams declared _ that there was nothing at present in the situation to cause anxiety, hut he was prepared to act if an emergency arises. The strikers seek more pay and shorter .hours, x ■ The United mine workers, although in a minority. in most fields, denounced- the strike and attempted to carry on their usual duties in the meantime. . , The strikers faced an ultimatum from the State and county authorities that ail pickets will be arrested because tlur strike called is illegal.— A. and N.Z.C.A.
