FUN AND FROLIC.

GEORGE WALLACE REVUE CO

CONTINUED SUCCESS AT OPERA HOUSE

Hilarious would be a mild term to apply to the reception accorded the George Wallace Revue Company at the Opera House l last evening when they repeated their performance of the opening night. Tho house was packed. George Wallace himself again showed that he is a comedian of far above ordinary merit and the crowd were kept in a hurricane of laughter at his priceless exhibition of humorous grotosqueness and delightful wit which were evident in practically every item on the programme. The first lidf comnrisod a vaudeville program no ’*v the various members of the company. It would bo drawing too fine distinction to specially single out any particular item for mention, but Marshall Crosby’s excellent voice in Irish songs was particularly pleasing, while the topical hits of Kathleen and Les Daley also proved, very popular. , The sketch. The Labor Bureau” was also specially well received. The second half of the programme consisted of the revue “Off Honolulu” in which all members of the company assisted with George Wallace as the leading spirit. This was a clever burlesque of shipboard life and was replete with humorous happopings which moved tho audience to ’•iotons mirth. Apart from the sustained merit of Wallace’s performance. perhaps the most pleasing individual item of the revue was _ a hornpipe by Lotfcy Craydon. assisted bv the “Six Rascals” whose ensemble work was iriost effective. The costuming Sind chorus work throughout reached a high standard and altogether the performance was a long wav above the average. This, evening the company will stage /their final presentation, a revue, “At the Crossroads” together with an entirely new selection of vaudeville items. The 1-ox plan will be at Eadv’s till noon and after that at the Palace Theatre.
