WELLINGTON, Oct. 19 The N.Z. Baptist Church Union conference was continued to-day The election of officers resulted: — Vice-president (president electedi, Mr S. Ewen;, membership committee, five located in one centre, this time the centre being Dunedin —the Revs. E. S. Luckwell, E. Evans, Pastor Chant and Mr J. Purdie; executive committee, Messrs F. W. Andrews, IV. E. Bush, J. R. Carey. Revs. F. E. Harry, J. Robertson, A. W. Stuart, Mr G .IT. Adams, Rev. E. S. Luckwell, Mr Wright; Home Mission Board, Rev. H. S. Wilson (convenor). Messrs. R. Howard, A. Anstico, F. G. Every W. E. Lambert, Pastor’Chant, Revs. O. S. Matthews, J. Robertson, and C. W. Duncomb. Messrs D. Ji. Allan, A. T. Kelly, J. H. Penman, T. E. Toney cliff e, W. Wright, the editor of the New Zealand Baptist, _ Rev. J. J. North; honorary solicitors, Messrs Mazengarb, Hay and Macalister: honorary auditors, Messrs T. Anton and A. T. Jackman; Annuity and Sustentation Fund, Revs. W. M. P. Lascelles and F. E. Harry, and Messrs F. N. Andrews, J. R. Carey, W. E. Hush, W. R. Ellingham, R.. S. Abel, T. E. Tonevcliffe, F. Gaze. Christchurch was chosen as the place of the next conference. The Young People’s Department is to be in Auckland with the Rev. L. B. Masefield as secretary.—P.A. WELLINGTON. Oct. 19. Resolutions were carried unanimouslv in Javor of the Bible in Schools Bill, and tho League of Nations, supporting the Auckland Presbytery in its opposition to the Magistrate .in the Richards concientious objector case, and urging the Government to reduce its military activities and urging the desirability of the abolition of compulsory military training in favor of a system of compulsory 'military training unassociated witli war.—P.A.
