Alias Gleitze left for Cape Grisnez in vindication of her swim and the honor of England. She was farewelled by enthusiastic crowds. She declared that she was confident of success, which view, ;« plot shared by expert Channel swimmers, many of whom say it is suicidal owing to the coldness.
