Henry Fugli, manager of the Teremakau sawmill, was killed this morning. He was working at tlie loading bank and slipped, a log rolling over him. Ail inquest will be held this afternoon.

COLLISION WITH CAB
CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 19
Hurled 13 yards from his motor cyclo and turning somersaults as he went, H. S. Weston, of AVhitleigli Avenue, Addington, “had a miraculous escape from death last evening when his machine collided with a motor car at the intersection of Lyttelton street and Lincoln road. An eye witness said lie went through the air like a stone. Weston suffered from shock and injuries, but was not seriously hurt. —P.A.
SUICIDE THROUGH DEPRESSION
AUCKLAND, Oct. 19,
A verdict of suicide while in a state of severe mental depression was returned to-day by the Coroner at the inquest on Herbert Avery, 49. a retired farmer, who was found with liis throat cut at DevonporL Deceased believed he was suffering from cancer, and the finding of the skeleton ofi ail infant under liis residence worried him considerably.
