(Special to the Times.) • AUCKLAND, Oct, 19: After/ lingering for nearly twelve months in the Waikato hospital with a fractured spine, Roland Hooten, 24, died i last night. 7 : His, case was a. sad one, and had pathptic.'features associated with it. He had just teen married, and was op big honeymoon , when the ear driven by his wife ran up a hank ana Upset, Mr Hooten .receiving ■/ severe injuries. Since then his. wife lias been practically a daily visitor to the hospital, and patiently helped to beguile liis weary hours. Tragedy descended,' however',' and his injuries ended fatally.. Deceased was an engineer of Tutaruru.—Special./ Equally sad circumstances attached to tho death of Sutherland Shaw, an elderly resident of Te Atutu', in Waikato hospital last night. Last Week he was proceeding with u party to Hamilton , for the wedding of his daughter when the car burst into , flames and, he was critically injured, subsequently succumbing to shock and burns.—P.A.
