MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS;
COMPETITIONS OPEN APRIL 23
The management committee of the Poverty Bay Football Association met in the Farmers’ Union rooms last evening. Present were Messrs. J. McDonald (in the chair), Marlor, Oats, Hair, McLean, Smith, McMullan, Nowell and Hewitson. A letter was received from Hastings United asking for permission to play Mercantile on June 4.' —(The request was granted provided, however, that if Mercantile are in the Kyne Cup final on that day another team will he substituted to play the visitors.
Registrations of clubs and colors were granted to Thistle, Gisgasco. Harbor Board and Mercantile. It was decided that the competitions be opened on April 23. For a match on Easter Saturday it was resolved that two teams be chosen' by the committee from players who advised tlieir respective delegates that they would be available for a match on that day. These teams will he chosen at the next meeting of the committee, April 12, before which date all names must, therefore, he handed in. On Easter Monday, Harbor Board will play all-comers.. Both these. Easter games will start at 2.30 p.m. Referees will be appointed later.
The matter of presenting medals to the winners of the League was left over until later in the season. It was decided“that. Mr. McDonald should be asked to represent the Poverty Bay Association at the annual general meeting of the New Zealand Fobthall Association in Wellington on April 27 and 28.
