SHOPKEEPER took no heed OF WARNING. another visit next night. threat TO WRECK STORE FULFILLED. AUCKLAND, Jan. 13 Burglars entered a shop in ITajlt• 11 oil Tuesday night, and, although r hey found t-lic till empty, they removed some of the stock. While there they cooked a meal of bacon , im l cogs. The intruders left a note tor the’ shopkeeper stating that if ,ni noy were not found on the prei urne-l on the occasion of their next visit, they would “wreck the store.” This threat was carried out last niclii. twenty-four hours after the first burglary. Again the till was empty, and the burglars proceeded to fulfil ' their promise to wreck the shop Thev damaged a quantity of stock, threw the food about, cooked another meal, and left the premises in a very untidy condition.—P.A.
