FRENCH BUDGET

(Received Oct. 13, 7.20 p.m.) PARIS, Oct. 12. The twelfth Budget shows that the revenue for the current year is estimated at 39,950,000,000 france and the expenditure at 39,382,000,000 franc's. Of the revenue 2,375,000, 000 francs, including 1,542,000,000 francs from reparations is earmarked for the payment of foreign debts; 3,133,000,000 francs and 3,500,000,000 francs from the recently .created fund are to be available for internal debt redemption. The sum of 500,000,000 francs will be devoted to an unpublished scheme to increase national production and adjust civil servants’ salaries.—A. and N.Z.C.A.

CASTLE BURNED AND CARETAKER FOUND SHOT.

The “Lord Nelson”, England’s most powerful locomotive, made its first public appearance when it drew the Atlantic Coast express from Salisbury to London.
