CELEBRATIONS IN NEW YORK. BIG FUNCTION ARRANGED. VIANDS FROM EVERY STATE. NEW YORK, Jan. 25. Sir James Elder, Australian Trade Commissioner here, expects 350 guests at the reception and ball which he and Lady Elder are giving in the Plaza Hotel to-morrow, celebrating Australia Day. The British Ambassador, the Rt. Hon. Sir Esme W. Howard, and Lady Howard, will be among the guests of honor, while numerous foreign consuls and other officials also are attending. A special feature of the function will he the supper of Australian food, consisting of viands from every State in the Commonwealth. The Australian flag will fly all day from the South berry Building, where the Commissioner’s offices are situated and from the Plaza Hotel, where he resides.— A.N.Z.C.A.
