PALACE THEATRE
“DICK TURPIN.”
Fox Film Corporation promises rare entertainment at the Palace at the matinee to-day and to-night, i where will be shown the special production “Dick Turpin,” a picturization of the thrilling life of the celebrated Enirt lish highway robber hero with loin Alix in the' title role. Dick iurpin was the original Anglo-Saxon dcvil-may-care horseback rider and the association between he and his P ec J" less marc, Black Bess, is comparable to that existing between Tom Aux and his wonder horse, “Tony.” For this reason, though the picture might be called a “costume” picture and not the kind usually associated with the name Tom Mix, the followers of this dashing Western star will see him. at his host, performing marvellous feats of horsemanship in eluding the law officers of England of 175 years ago. “Dick Turpin” is the most expensive production in which Tom Alix has ever appeared and it will win him manv new friends here. The presentation of the life of the dashing bandit with Tom Alix in the-pivotal role marks the most important forward milestone in the artistic career of this Fox star, for it will he his first premier on Broadway despite the fact that tor years he has been a prime favorite in New York’s outlying and neighboring theatres.
