WELLINGTON GAS CO

The revenue obtained by the Wellington Gas Company during the year ended December 31. 1925, amounted to £221,556 which compares well with £211,726, the revenue for 192-1. The costs of manufacture and distribution of gas were £115,962, against £105,738, management, salaries, general charges, etc., amounted to £33,729, as compared with £26,536, and rates and taxes accounted for £12,988, as against £12,043, leaving the net profit at £58,877, as against £67,409. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.,. have-received the following cablegram from tlieir London house, under date January 20: “Tallow: "Wo quote c.i.f. and e. values for the following descriptions: Fine mutton 45s per cwt„ good.beef 43s per ewt., mixed 41s Gd per cwt. Our quotations are more or less nominal. Dairy produce.—Butter : New Zealand choeiest 174 s to 176 s per cwt. ; second' grade neglected 164 s per cwt.
