COLLEEN MOORE IN “SALLY” A PHENOMENAL SUCCESS

One of the largest crowds witnessed for years assembled outside Everybody’s Theatre on Saturday night, everyone eager to witness the screening of “Sally” the musical comedy success with Colleen Moore in the title role. The whole of the seating in the dress circle was booked out, whilst many reserved seats in the stalls —a wise precaution. It is estimated by the management that fully one thousand intending patrons were reluctantly turned away before halfpast seven. “Sally” the successful musical comedy which was so popular here in Australia, presented by First National with Colleen Moore as the star was an instantaneous success whilst Lloyd Hughes and Leon Errol Broadway conicdy kings., heading the big supporting cast were excellent _m support of Colleen Moore. June Mathis, who was responsible for such him successes as “The Four Horsemen” and “Blood and Sand” made the adaptation of “Sally”. Colleen Moore brings this quaint and loveable heroine to the screen with a newness and originality all her own. Her interpretation of the role is declared to exceed in charm and poignant appeal any of her past characterisations. Colleen’s dresses throughout were a feature of the production.
