NAPIER WOOL SALE DALGETY AND CO'S. REPORT The third wool sale of the season was concluded in the Municipal Theatre on Jianuary 18. Values throughout showed no change and from start to finish the sale was marked by eagerness and smart bidding. The competition came from all quarters but more particularly from Bradford, the Continent and America who were always on their feet clamouring and shouting to the last farthing. The sale was easily the keenest since the war, and invariably a dozen buyers would shout the same price, and at times it was almost impossible to tell who was in first. Fortunately on these occasions one of the buyers would bid another farthing and secure the lot. The French and German buyers had elastic limits on pieces and lambs so that our New Zealand mills and scourers secured very few lines being generally outbid. American stylo wools fetched very good prices and growers who were fortunate in having this class of tvool received better prices than was anticipated. The wool generally was light in condition showing signs of the wet winter. AVie made' a clearance of 97 per cent, as a result of growers being prepared to meet the market. Taking the sale on the whole prices realised were practically on a par with outlast sale.
