RACES AT ASHHURST
PALMERSTON N., Jan. 22. The Manawatu Motor Cycle Club held its races at Ashhurst racecourse to-day. Fortunately tho rain ceased early and a record crowd watched :he exerting events. There were several minor spills. The handicaps shown are in seconds:
North Island middleweight championship (8 miles). —M. lYloller 34 Norton 1, P. Coleman 31 P. and M 2, L. Mangham 3* Harley 3. Won by 100 yards slowing lip. Time: 7.33. President’s Handicap (12 miles). — H. Holler (50) 1, P. Coleman (scr) 2, D. Managh (25) 3. Twenty-three starters. Time: 10.34 2-5. Ashhurst Handicap (8 miles). —L. Brausch (70) 1, C. E. Lowe .(GO) 2, D. Managh (scr) 3, Time: 7.25 1-5. Classic Handicap (8 miles). —D. Managh (20) 1, P. H. Donovan (55)_2, P. Coleman (scr) 3. Time: 8.2 3-5. Anniversary Handicap (10 miles). — 1-1.
