AT THE PALACE

“THE CURE” AND “THE FAST SET.” At the Palace at the matinee today, a double feature programme will be" presented, Charlie Chaplin, the King of Comedians, in “The Cure,” and beautiful Betty Compson, recently seen to such advantage in “The woman With Four Faces” in a powerfully dramatic picture, “The Fast Set.” Betty Compson is seen as the young wife in the story, and ■Elliot Dexter is her husband, who is too engrossed in his business to sec taht his wife needs romance. She becomes entangled in the fast set and her husband awakes to the fact that her friends are not the right sort. “Those, people are not to come to the' house,” demanded the husband. “They 7 will,” retorted the wife. Then hubby changed his tactics and said lie would like to bring a friend' to dinner. Ho brought her, a woman of t'lie streets and to the assembled guests, he said they were no better than she. Tbe guests left in anger, and. tbe husband left his home. To the woman hiding in the house came a little girl, and this woman realised the home should not be broken up. To the wife, she told her opinion of the man who had come between her and her husband. She suggests the husband and this man meet. “Tho Fast Set” will tell you what happened when both men meet to fight for the woman they both loved. It is a great dramatic offering and will also be shown to-night. Mr. A. S. Bell will also make his re-appearance in some beautiful songs.
