CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS. TIMARU, Oct. 28.' The sixtieth show of the Timaru A. ancl P. Association opened to-c!ay in fine weather. Considering the severe winter the stock showed looked surprisingly well and the exhibition as a whole was very good. In merinos F. H. Smith took three championships and J. H. Grigg ore. The other championships were: English Leicester ram, W. J. Kelland; reserve, A. S. Elworthy; ewe, W. J. Kelland ; championship and reserve Border Leicester ram, H. Ruddenklau; reserve A. M. Copland; ewe, H. Ruddenklau ; champion and. reserve Romney Marsh ram, Donald Grant; champion, J. H. Grigg; reserve owe, 0. H. Johnstone; reserve, J. H. Grigg; Shropshire ram and ewe, Rupert Parry; Southdowns, ram and ewes, J. H. Grigg; Suffolk Downs, Cargo Bros.; Rylands, ram, Bayly Wit hell; ewe, John Brooks; Corriedalc, ram and ewe, Isaac Andrew; Shorthorn bulk W. Mcßride; championship' for best got up beast, A. S. Elworthy, Holm Station; Cup for best milk and but-ter-fat record for tlie year, A. S. Elworthv’s Domino Van Thumper, with a yield of lG.GuOlbs of milk and 635.G7 lb of butter-fat, which is 5.671 b above the requirements; champion harness horse. Miss I. Rugherford's Blaekthorne.
