Sensational scenes from a fire in business premises in Mary St., Dublin. are reported’. Forty people were trapped. Twenty-seven men and women jumped from the second story, fiiteen being injured. Several girls were caught by men in the crowded street. . Many jumped too soon, striking the pavement. The police requisitioned a canvas sheet into which a girl jumped but fell through and was badly injured. A woman in the crowd offered a shawl in which two girls were caught Another flung herself from a window and was caught in a policeman’s arms.
