SERIOUS CHARGES
LENGTHY LIST OE ALLEGED 'I’MEFTS AND BURGLARIES.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 7. A lengthy list of serious charges, comprising breaking, entering, theft, being in possession oi gelignite, fuse, detonators, and house-breaking implements, and with unlawfully converting two motor-cars to their own use, was preferred against-three men., Gustav Henry Hansen (24), Ernest John Blasting (28), and James Harold O’Brien (29), at the Police Court this morning. , ■ , One witness, Thomas Johnston, a motor-car dealer, said he obseived Hansen driving a ' stolen, motor-car uloi')sc the Helensvill c rood oil Sunday . August 23. Knowing that the car had been stolen, witness took Hansen hack to Helensvillc to give him in charo-e, but the constable was absent, in Auckland, so witness brought accused to the city, and handed him over to the police. Evidence was given regarding burg,laries at various shops in the suburbs ami the use of explosives on safes Tho hearing was then adjourned till to-UtorroW.
