A RINGING-liN CASE. SWEET PRINCE AS TEKAPO. (PEEKS ASSOCIATION! ) NEW PLYMOUTH, April 27. As briefly telegraphed yesterday, disqualification of three years in each care have been imposed on Harry Daniil, of .Waverley, and upon the black gelding Sweet Prince, by the Judicial Committee of the Taranaki Trotting Club. This step is the .sequel to an incident at the Taranaki Trotting Club’s annual meeting at New Plymouth on Saturday, April 18, when T. H. Davoy, stipendiary steward, , questioned the identity of a horse entered as Tckapa, which was saddled up for the Motnroa Handicap. An inquiry was held and adjourned, but the horse was Lot allowed to start, being held by the committee. In reporting its findings the Judicial Committee of the Club state that after deliberation it was resolved unanimously (1) that Harry Daniel, of Waverley, bo disqualified for three years for nominating the black gelding Sweet Prince (Sweet Patch —Princess Ena) as Tekapo (Brooklyn—Nancy) for two events to be decided at the Taranaki Trotting .Club’s meeting on April 18, 1925, and the finding also alleges false statements by Daniel: (2) that the black gelding Sweet Prince, entered as Tekapo, be disqualified for three years; (3) the committee would point out that ,from .evidence and information supplied by the Assicintiorv, it would appear that Kerrisk, of (iiluingai, was the registered owner of Sweet Prince in 19.18. Kerr isle sold the horse to J. F. Eourke, of Alton, but the transfer was not registered with the Association as required by Rule 153 Ihmrko passed the horse on to Archil- Gameron (since deceased), of Eliham. but no transfer of the regi-tra-ti cm followed. In the late Cameron’s name. Sweet Prince ran unplaced in the Stratford Handicap at the Waimate Plains meeting on Easter A!ondav, 1621. Then the horse was sold to" Ciias. Richards, of ilvakaramoa. Richards sold to H. Morrison, of Waverloy, and then Daniel, of Waverier, bought the horse from Morrison. No attempt was made by either of these individuals t > effect regist: ation with the Association. There was not the slightest doubt that this horse was tlie one nominated by Daniel as Tekapo. From authentic information supplied by the Trotting Association, Tekapo was purchased from Scott, of Kni Iwi, and taken to Queensland by Ireland in 1914 and there was no information that the horse had returned to the Dominion.”
