RESULTS OF REVALUATION

REDUCTION OF £541,064 FOR

2660 MEN

WELLINGTON, -July 29. \ o-eneral statement of work accomplished by the Dominion Revaluation Board regard to Soldier settlements was made in the House of Representatives to-night by t' le Hon. 0 J. Pan\ He said the National Board and the 23 district committees were doing excellent work. The total number of soldiers on 1 the land was 9631, of whom 5347 had applied for a revaluation. It was gratifying to know that already the Board had given a final determination in no fewer than 2660 of these cases. Thus half of the applications had been dealt with by the Revaluation Board, and a reduction in capital and m interest bad been made, so that the wind was x err.ipered to the shorn lamb, [n regard to" the total involved, reduction- in capital value amounted to £541,064. A reduction of £289,263 had also been made in mortgages, making the total reductions to date of £830,327 after dealing with half the cases the subject of the application. Liberal concessions had also been made by way of interest and rent and in certain cases rent or interest arrears had been remitted.-—'Special.
