Further particulars of, the fatal accident which hefell George Henry "Williams at Rakauroa on Tuesday evening, show that he and a friend were standing on the carriage platform ns the train was nearing station. The other man went inside, but Williams remained on the platform and he was not missed when the train pulled into Rakauroa. Mr Williams was a • well-known sheepfarmer in the Rakauroa district, his farm being some eight miles from the township. Prior to taking Up farming he was in business *in Gisborne, in partnership with Mr Murray. Ho was a married man, 43 years of age with a family of four daughters. He was a. son of Mr and Mrs Henry Williams, of Riverside Road. Aji inquest into the circumstances •of the death will lie held to-day.
