Dr Ethel Bentham asserts that unsuitable footwear is accountable for ono third of women’s disabilities.
“It is enough to make me weep,” sho says, “to gee the bulging, swollen ankles, misshapen calves, and flattened toes or the. modern high-heeled girl. It is the exception nowadays to find an adult foot which is not deformed.”
