jt is officially announced that foot-and-mouth disease in California, which necessitated the slaughter of many herds of cattle, has been checked. but it is not. certain that there will he complete eradication for several months. Much 1 territory has been released from quarantine, lhe officials state there is no dependable cure. Not even a method of treatment lias been discovered.—Reuter.
