A field of 17 was just starting when Pong, attached to a sulky, jumped the fence into the course proper, freed itself from the vehicle, and madly galloped up the • course, portions of its harness swinging in ail directions. It charged ■ approaching field before most ot the jockeys were aware of the danger and brought down a couple of horses and three others fell over them. One jockey, O’Sullivan, had his collarbone,. arm rind ankle rractured, but the others were not seriously hurt; The horse Acre hacL a fetlock broken, necessitating destruction—U.P.A. .
