LABORITES ATTEMPT TO “BUSTLE PREMIER.”
CHRISTCHURCH, May 6. The Canterbury Labor members of Parliament have sent a letter to Mr Massey, claiming that the public chould be told at the earlielst opportunity the exact position m connection with the public finances, and calling attention to the fact that Mr Snowden Last month presented an £800,001,000 budget and a surplus for the year ended March, and that while revenue and expenditure figures were available in England lor April, the New Zealand statistician was prevented publishing the January I-eb-ruary 'and March figures until the Finance Minister chose. They dej dared that there is likely to be a £3,000,000 surplus, and urge that £2 000,000 should be paid to public servants to restore the pre-war standard of wages.—P A.
