1 BILL BEING PREPARED. i WELLINGTON, July 2G. Replying to a question put in the House to-day by Air Isitt (Christchurch North), the Prime Minister said that the repo it of the Commis- ; sion on Military Pensions was ready and would be laid on the table of tlie House. _ A Bill was being prepared with a view to putting the intentions of the Government into law. Members would have an opportunity of thoroughly studying the report before the legislation was proceeded with.. Both the .Minister of Defence and himself were anxious to have the Bill passed as soon as possible. He might add that the same applied in regard to the. measure that •it was intended to bring in regarding Soldier Land Settlements. What the Government would propose would put the soldiers in a very much better position i than that, which they had occupied up to ‘•lie present time. . Sir Heaton Rhodes (Minister for Defence) said that lie had been only that morning engaged with the law draughtsman in connection with the Pensions Bill .—Special.
