VENEREAL DISEASE CAMPAIGN. CHRISTCHURCH, July 2?,. The Hospital Board congratulated Hie Government on its action m netting up a committee on venereal dis-ea-e. Dr. Fenwick said the Board had taken action nine years ago against the disease, and had treated 1600 persons. Tic wanted to f-ee eonrliiional notification introduced. ALLEGED FT! A ITD. WELLINGTON. July 25. Tlerhcri Mack nelly was charged with fraud, hy obtaining the sum of £IOO from a man named Hart hy means of /false pretences. It was stated the <uT eased had caused an advertisement of--1 fering a working partnership for £2OO, guaranteeing £8 to £11) weekly, to he inserted. TTart had responded and an j n ierview had been arranged. Accused sail! he had a business in Albert St., Auckland, for advertising the "School Journal.'” Accused claimed the sole rights, and as a result Hart advanced £IOO. LT-ion ascertaining that accused did not possess the rights as represented, ho informed the police. Accused was committed for trial, bail being al- ' lowed in £2OO. —P.A."
