DOCKERS’ STRIKE
LONDON MEN MARCH TO TILBURY. PERSUADE HUNDREDS TO CEASE WORK. (Uniter Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, July 23. Strikers marching from London reached Tilbury as doekworkors were signing on, and persuaded several hundred to join the strike. Work consequently was stopped on two New Zealand boats, two P and O. boats, two' Clan liners, and several smaller .vessels. Those marching returned to London as pickets.—A. and N.Z.C.A. UNOFFICIAL NEGOTIATIONS. MEN TO APPROACH EMPLOYERS DIRECT (Received July 24, 8.50 p.rn.) London, Jpiy 24. Following on the dockers’ repudiation of their leaders, the Unofficial ■Strike Committee decided to negotiate direct with the employers. It is officially intimated that the leaders expelled are’ no longer to speak on behalf of the strikers.-—A. and. N.Z.C.A.
