FARM HAND AWARDED ’£33l FOR LOSS OF LEG.
AUCKLAND, April 16. The Arbitration Court awarded, Hubert James Broughton, farm laborer, £3S4. against Donald Finlayson, farmer, of Dargaville, for loss of a leg caused by an injury sustained while roundingup sheep.

AUCKLAND, April 16. j The Hon. J. G. Coates attended the 1 opening of the Nilmtupo dam, extending the city water supply, and giving a storage of 540 million gallons, equal ; to the demand for the next ten years, j" Mr. Coates stated that it had been def- j initely decided to continue the Arapuni scheme. The Government meant . to fulfil their contracts for the supply j of power in 1923. Plans and specifica- ; tions were already printed, and had been sent overseas. A commission of i engineers had declared the scheme per- } fectly safe. It was expected that four \ or five large firms would tender for j the construction of the dam and head- \ works. ,
