G OVER NMENT PR EPARATION S FOR REVOLUTION.
LONDON, February 21
It is reported that the Portuguese Government brought troops from the provinces to Lisbon in readiness to avert a contemplated military revolutionary outbreak, which was expected on the 19th. ’V later message states that all is quiet, but the President and Government remain in the fortress at tiie mouth of the Tagus. It. is stated that Republican Guards are concentrated at the arsenal with howitzer batteries aud machine guns, in readiness for any emergency.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
