ItOCIvFEiLLER’S SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD GRANDDAUGHTER. ENGAGED.
BETROTHED TO ELDERLY SWISS RIDING MASTER:
NEW YORK, Feb. 20
Harold McCormick, multi-million-aire, of Chicago, has announced the engagement of bis sixteen-year-old daughter Mathilde, granddaughter of John D. Rockfoller, to Max Oser. a riding master, of Zurich, Switzerland, who is fifty-seven years old. Mathilde recently returned from Switzerland, and intimated that loved tlic poor horseman, which astounded society. Familv conferences were held,' resulting in formal approval of the engagement.- It is understood that the family conswit is, conditional on Oser coming to America to live, this being a concession to Mr Rockfeller, who boasted that no fortune-hunting Europeans ever married into his family.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
