PALACE THEATRE.

LAST NIGHT OF DOROTHY GISH AND WALLACE RETD.

To-night the big laughing success, “The Ghost in the Garret,” with Dorothy Gish in the stellar role, and the thrilling adventure story, “'Always Audacious,” with Wallace Reid in a dual role, will be screened for the last time at the Palace Theatre. A splendid supporting programme is included. . To-morrow, at the matinee, the biggest programme of the year will bo presented with the Paramount-Art-craft masterpiece, “Paying the Piper,” and an all-star east, in which. Dorothy Dickson, the famous dancer and entertainer, plays the leading role, together with N Barbara Wyndliam. Amongst the other characters are Red La Roque, Alma Tell, Reginald Denny, George Fawcett. Also presented is Bert Lytell, in the immortal story, “A Message from Mars” —the tale of the most selfish man on earth. Every playgoer and bookman lias laughed and felt pitiful at the egotistical young clubman whose wealth was swept away in a twinkling, and he found himself attired in rags as the stern messenger from Mars informed him he would have to suffer the agonies of the poor he had always scorned, and then disappearing loft the former, rich young man a vagrant of the snowy street. It is a tremendous story, wonderfully filmed. “Paying the Piper” is one of the most dazzling and glittering stories of the screen. It is alive with richness and -gaiety. The romance concerns a typical shallow-minded overrich beauty. She was all the moralists scorn in Now York’s idle rich, lolling in luxury. Here is pictured the life she led, in all its adventure, all its reckless pleasure, all the staggering price she paid to Satan who piped while she danced and loved. Tlio supporting films include Art Accord in the last episode but one of “The Moonriders,” a Christie comedy, and a- number of Gazette and interest films. The plan is at Muir’s.
