TELEGRAPH MESSENGER’S DEATH. A sad fatality occurred at Hataitai on Christmas Eve. A youthful telegraph messenger, E. H. Foster, foiirteen years of age, was cresting a hill in Hamilton Road at about 7 p.m,. on his cycle, when the wind carried the machine away out of control, and the lad was precipitated against a telegraph p-ole. He sustained a fractured skull from his fall, was found by a Mr Adams, who was passing in his motor, and was rushed to the public hospital, which was reached by 7.45. Before this, however, the' unfortunate lad had succumbed to his injuries.

BOY’S FATAL FALL FROM CART

WELLINGTON, Dec. 29. Thomas Cullen, 18 years of ago, an inmate of tho Anglican Boys’ Home, Lower Hutt, was killed instantly this afternoon through falling from a cart, the horse attached to wnich had bolted.—Press Assn.
