KOTES The Arahura arrived at Gisborne yesterday morning from Napier and was tendered with the launch upon anchoring for inward passengers. The launch with outward passengers left at 7 o'clock last night and the Arahura proceeded later to Napier. Leaving there again to-day, the vessel returns to Gisborne and is to be tendered with one launch only for both inward and outward passengers at 3 o'clock this afternoon. After transferring passengers the vessel proceeds to Auckland direct. » The aux. schooner Te Aroka which left Gisborne on Thursday night arrived at Wairoa at 9.30 a.m. yesterday with a cargo of timber. The scow Cathkit completed loading 150,000 feet of timber at Gisborne yesterday morning and is expected to sail for Sydney to-day. The Huanui is to sail for Auckland to-day with timber and general cargo. The heavy sea at Hick’s Bay prevented a start being made yesterday to load the Kumara. As soon as conditions permit, the vessel is to lift a large consignment of frozen meat, and, upon completion, comes on to Gisborne to continue loading. The departure of the Fairburn and the Elsie Mary from Gisborne is still being held up by contrary winds. When conditions become favorable, the Elsie Mary sails for Auckland and the Fairburn for Tokornaru Bay. Advice has been received from the Richardson Co. that the Mako is shortly to resume her East Coast running between Auckland, Gisborne, and Napier, The vessel has been laid up at Auckland and is to be. re-commissionecl about October 26, when, with the Awahou, she will carry °ou both a passenger and cargo service.
