STRIKE AT JAPAN.
CRUSHING DEFEAT OF WORKERS.
s (Received July 28, 8 p.m.) TOKYO, July 27. The strike at Kobe has apparently been broken. Many of the men are returning to work and the troops are withdrawing. TOKYO, July 27. .
The strike at the Kawasaki dockyards at Kobe has apparently ended in a crushing defeat of the strikers. Thirty per cent, of the workers have returned to the shops unconditionally, and the remainder are expected to'return shortly. Theso workers are mostly of the skilled class, and are in a favorable . position to enforce their demands. The defeat is considered a blow against the right to organise unions. —A. and N.Z.C.A
