The death is reported of Dr. Drui-tt, Anglican Bishop of Grafton. —U.P.A.
The death is recorded in a London cable of James Winstone, the South Wales miner’s leader.
Mr A. A. Fromm, a former resident of this town, is at present visiting Gisborne.
The Hon. A. T. Ngata, M.P.. arrived in Gisborne from Waiomatit.ini and left by the Arahura last evening for Napier. Mr W. M. Bayly has been appointed secretary of the Poverty Bay Automobile Association vice Air G. Crawshaw who has resigned the position. At the annual meeting of the Gisborne Bowling Club last night, the chairman stated that an enlarged photograph of the late Air J. W. Bright had been presented to the club by the relatives of the deceased gentleman. In moving that a letter of thanks be sent to the donors, the chairman paid a tribute to the work done for the club by Air Bright during the many years lie was a member of the club. He was a one time president and had served the club in many different ways. The motion was endorsed by the meeting.
