LONDON TALI.OW SALEM. Messrs Dalgoty and Co. Ltd. have received the following cable from their London office: — "At the tallow sales i 2225 casks were offered and 9SO sold. There is no demand for mutton fallow; good mixed is worth 33s to 34s per cwt. There is good demand for low and inferior descriptions at par to Is per cwt. advance.” WOOL, SKIN, AND HIDE SALE. Messrs Murray Roberts and Co. Ltd. report as follows on their fortnightly sale, held at Wellington, on 7th inst. ; “A catalogue of 2300 sheepskins and 700 hides and calfskins was submitted to the usual attendance of buyers. The market was about par for dry skins, while prices for salted showed an advance of from Id to 3d per skin over last sale's rates. In hides, bidding was fairly brisk and the market showed u hardening lendancy. Yearling, and kip were in good demand at improved prices. There was a keen competition for calfskins, which advanced from Id to 2d in light and medium weights, and up to 3d for heavy weights. Prices current were as follows: —Sheep-skins: Half-bred 1, fine crossbred 2? to 4, medium coarse crossbred 11 to 21, short to half wools 4 to 2.}, lambs 21 to 3, dead and damaged crossbred l to 11. inferior and badly damaged 1 to 1, pelts l to 1-J, salted and green 9 ‘to 2s 3d. pelts, salted 3 to Is, lambs, salted 3 to Is lOd.
