The Mararoa left Auckland last night for Gisborne via Tokomaru Bay and will be tendered here to-day with one launch for inward and outward passengers at 10 p.m., proceeding later to Napier. The Mararoa returns to Gisborne from Napier on Thursday, and is scheduled to leave the same evening on a return trip. On arrival at Auckland on Saturday the auxiliary schooner Fair burn reported having encountered heavy gales on the Coast, and the vessel had her sails blown away. The Fairburn is to load at Auckland for Hicks Bay. The top-sail schooner Maroro, which is loading white pine at the town wharf for Sydnev, is expected to complete and set sail for the Australian port to-morrow. On her return trip to Gisborne the sailer will bring GOO hardwood poles for the Hydro-Electric Engineering Coy. The Elsie Mary sailed yesterday morning for Auckland with general cargo and on completion of discharge there the schooner will load again for Gisborne.

The Huarmi cleared yesterday morning for Auckland, ah which port she will load 3800 cases of benzine for Gisborne. The ketches Huamii and Elsie Mary set sail at 30.45 o'clock yesterday morning for Auckland and in view of the interest displayed in their last run down to Gisborne from that port, another close contest in sailing time between the vessels was expected on this occasion, but at 7 p.m. yesterday the Iluanui was out of sight of the signal station, whilst the Elsie Mary had not cleared the bay. The top-sail schooner War Lord was expected to begin loading machinery and 100 tons of coal at Auckland yesterday for Gisborne. The trawler Gosford lost a net when trawling in the hay last week. The liner. Tort Napier is expected to complete loading late on Thursday night or early on Friday morning. SHIPPING MOVEMENTS. AUCKLAND, Dec. 20. Sailed, 6.20 p.m., Mararoa, for Gisborne.
