DETAILS OF NEW PROGRAMME. IMPOETANT INNOVATIONS. WELLINGTON, Sept. 9. A meeting of the executive committee of the Dominion IDfle Association was presided over by Colonel R. J. Collins, C.M.G. (chief executive officer). There were present: Colonel R. Hughes. Colonel Cresswell. Major Doull, presidents; H. T. Marshall,- R. J. Emg (Masterton), W. Masefield (Sounds), J. M. Shanks (Dunedin). Skelton (Auckland). Captain Bell represented the Defence Department. Colonel Collins said it was very gratifying to see such a representative meeting. The proposed programme drawn up by tlie*executive officer was submitted and with a few minor alterations approved. Although drawn up on the liues of previous competitions several new features have been introduced. The prize money amounts to £1750. A champion service team aggregate lias been established and the conditions affecting service matches have been brought into line with the principles governing military competitions. Re-entries for the running man competition have a separate prize list, so that tlie first trv counts for the service championship. The principal prize for champion is £2O, and a gold medal. In the King’s Prize the total prize list is made up to £2OO, champion rifle belt, gold medal, gold badge and £SO being awarded to the rifle champion. lhe highest aggregate in both senes will receive a gold medal to commemoiate the fact that he is the best shot in all individual competitions. Provsion has been made for a new competition for senior cadets and the seven aggregate prizes for such cadets-as fire throughout the meeting. The territorialchampionship on lines of the "Army championships” in Great Britain is to be introduced. It will be open to one representative from each unit of the territorial force, including the senior cadets. The 1920 target is to be adopted for all competitions up to 600 yards. It is circular and colored very light grev in tlie upper half and sand color in the lower half. It is mounted on a square from 4ft by 4ft for the 200 and 300 yards, and 6ft by 6ft for the 500 and 600 wards. The upper half only of the bull’s-eye is black, as tlie aiming mark.
