EMBARGO ON RACEHORSES MAY BE REMOVED.
CHRISTCHURCH, July 20,
At a meeting of jockeys at Riccarton to-day a letter was read from the Transport Federation, asking for an expression of opinion regarding a proposal to lift the embargo on the travel of horses by steamers. It is understood that pratically all local jockeys signed a petition favoring removal of the embargo.—Press Assn.
Prince Hal was scratched at 12.20 and'Bombproof at 2 p.m. for the Winter Cup.—P.A. wire.
