SHEARERS’ DISPUTE.
GRAZIERS REFUSE FORTY-FOUR HOUR WEEK. MATTER FOR ARBITRATION COURT.
(Received July 19, 10.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 19
The Graziers’ Association, representing over 6000 graziers, holding flocks totalling 20,000.000 sheep, refuses to consider the shearers demand for a forty-four hours week, stating that it is a matter for the Arbitration Court, to decide as it is a national question, ail'd extends far beyond shearing, having a bearing on general labor on station and farm and on city industries. Therefore the graziers are determined to fight against the imposition of reduced hours. —U.P.A.
