MATAWHERO YARDS

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency;i Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly live stock sale at the Matawhero yards on Wednesday, when a fair yarding of sheep and a few head of cattle were offered to a large attendance. Lidding throughout was keen, and all lots sold readily under the hammer at improved prices. The firm report a complete clearance in the sheep, pens, and very few head of cattle were passed. The yarding included 1690 sheep, all sold ; 94 head of cattle, 90 sold; 37 pigs, all sold. The following prices were realised during the day: Fat ewes 30s, light wethers 29s (id, good woolly hoggets 27s 3d, medium hoggets 22s 4d to 24s 511, cull hoggets 10s fid, forward owes 27s lOd to 28s Id, small' 2-tooth ewes empty 27s Od, pure Lincoln owes in lamb 40s to 60s, pure Romney ewes £3 3s. Leef: Light cows £B, small weaners £3, cull do. 28s, 20 months' heifers £6 7s, 20 months' steers £7, dairy cows full milk £l2 ss. Pigs: Baeoners £4 to £5 2s, porkers £2 14s, weaners 17s Od to 21s.
