JOE BECKETT BEATS TOMMY BURNS.
TOWEL THROWN IN IN SEVENTH ROUND.
LONDON, July 16. Beckett defeated Tommy Burns at Albert Hall.
Burns made a plucky effort in the early rounds, and frequently scored, but his blows lacked power. Burns was groggy at the end of the fifth, and the towel was thrown in in the seventh.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
